Power Transmission - Cable Drives

Our multi-directional cable drives capitalize on the advantages of chains, while retaining the flexibility of belts.  As a result, cable drives not only outperform belts and chains in many applications, but they also can be used in applications where belts and chains cannot.

Understanding this versatility of cable drives comes from examining their features.  Perhaps the most valuable feature of cable drives is their ability to bend in multiple planes.  Since the cable is symmetrical, it can bend in the X, Y, Z planes without sacrificing life of performance. Secondly, the load is transmitted from the driving pulley to the balls, which are rigidly attached to the cable. The balls engage into spherical pockets in the pulley and establish a positive, zero-slip transmission of power.
